Yes Jesus died for us

Yes we have eternal life

But we also have a duty here on this earth. Ya feel me?

You can love Jesus all you want but if you are constantly late to work you will be fired.

You can love Jesus all you want but if you eat like crap and don’t take care of your body you will get sick.

You can love Jesus all you want but if you treat people harshly your relationships will suffer.

As Christians, you need to combine the power of the holy spirit in your life with living in not just spiritual excellence but physical excellence.

God gave his only son so he can save the world not condemn it. That means he wants us to live on earth as it is in heaven. We have the power to do it.

One decision can change everything.

The decision to go to the gym

The decision to get a chicken salad vs Burger King.

The decision to wake up early vs sleep late.

The funny thing is people who aren’t disciplined think living with discipline is torture. Actually, it’s not, it’s the best thing that can happen to you. Living with discipline is freedom and you feel so great doing it while you’re doing it because of the following reasons:

1 . You're being a steward of God’s resources.

2. You're bettering your life

3. Since you bettering your life you're also bettering the lives of others

Remember we cannot fill other people’s cups unless ours is running over

My cup runneth over as it says in psalms

If God called us to follow him that means he wants to help us change and influence the world. Yes, 1 person can do it. God can work through you. Just look at mother Theresa, Mandela, Gandhi, MLK, and so forth. We can do it.

My challenge for you today is what can you do to better your life by 1%?

It doesn’t have to be 50% remember if a plane leaves from New York to Texas and it changes the direction only by 1% over time it’s going to end up in Seattle and not in Texas because of the 1% shift over time.

Do that 1% percent every single day and your life will change.

WTF Faith ( What The Faith Are You Waiting For)

FAITH IS A MUSCLE. You can’t just use faith once a week or once a month. You need to LIVE BY FAITH, WALK BY FAITH EVERY SINGLE STEP, EVERY SINGLE DAY

Many people have religion and not faith. Yes you need righteousness but you need faith because that’s the foundation.. 

Man let me tell you something straight.

What are you waiting for? If God gave you the vision then why aren’t you pursuing it? 9 times out of 10 it’s always fear. And many of us say we are praying about it which many Christians use for procrastination, I know I did. 

This is funny. When I was writing this, I was on the train and as I looked up there was a sign that said “What Are You Waiting For? Join The Fight”  Then on the bottom of the sign, it says “COMBAT COVID”. This is right after I was writing about how God gives signs. Just like how Highways and roads have signs to guide us in the right direction, God will also give us signs to confirm our decisions and direction. God is so good! 

But on that note, are you ready to join the fight? Are you ready for combat? Are you ready for war? I’m going to tell it like it is. If you’re not ready for any one of those, you might need to build up your strength and perspective to truly enter God’s promises and his purpose for your life. How I know? I used to be a Pinterest Christian knowing thinking God is a genie in a bottle and because I believe in him nothing bad will happen. That was not the right perspective and I lacked strength because if something bad did happen I would blame God, blame someone or blame myself but here is what I realized: if God allows anything “bad” to happen that means it is used to strengthen us or give us a revelation. God’s will is for us to conform to his image. In order for us to be used by God at the maximum potential we need to be strong, courageous and meditate on God's word day and night as it says in Joshua 1:9. 

As Paul said:

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 12:11

“ Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

Hebrews 12:12

After studying the Bible and the stories of David and Joshua these men were used by God in war and battle. Ok, so you may not be fighting a physical war in physical combat but we are always fighting a spiritual war every single day. This is why God urges us to put on the armor of God so that we are protected and we can be prepared for battle. 

I was having a conversation with my friend and she kept saying if it’s Gods will I will do this, If it’s Gods will I will do that. She was in a state of confusion and no direction. Basically, she wasn’t going to take action until she knew God’s will (which is not faith) but many times we can only find Gods will if we are taking action. God’s will for us is to be sanctified, to have faith and step out in that faith. WHEN IN DOUBT STEP OUT. 

I know many Christians say I will wait until I have peace but no actually we find peace piece by piece. Little by little, step by step. I remember I had to make a decision about my next job opportunity and what I did was walk to both locations and prayed as I went around each location. And the right job opportunity stood out like a sore thumb with the peace that I felt. I actually walked the most steps that day about 13 miles and I found my peace. If I would have stood home it wouldn’t have happened. Now I'm not saying you have to walk 13 miles now lol, but what I am saying is that how bad do you want it? How bad do you want to hear from God? How bad do you want a confirmation from God? How badly do you want God’s promises for your life?

Before the Israelites stepped out on the Jordan River God gave them instructions on what to do. But the river would not stop if they did not take that first step. They could have camped on the edge of the river and stood there but they didn’t. They took the first step and the river stopped in order for them to cross it. Many of us and I’m guilty of this too, we camp on the edge of what God is telling us to do, we camp out on his word. Sometime we got a word from God and hoard it but we know deep down that we need to do it, and that is what pains us every day. Even though we try to distract ourselfs with entertainment, food, work and other activities we know deep down what we need to do next and his word for us. We need the courage and straight up guts. We can’t fake or trick God, he is the truth the life and the way. You can’t out strategize God, he knows more than we know, he knows our path since he created us. This is why it’s so essential to listen and abide by the promptings of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our helper, guidance system and will guide us into all truth. 

What is it today that you need to do? Even if God isn’t giving you the signs or even a word his will for us is to take action because God ,like a quarterback, always hits a moving target not still ones. Yes we need to have an amount of time to be still, pray, read the Bible, and worship everyday but other than that we need to work. And sometimes we need to jump because the net will appear, he is a great catcher (he caught Peter before he drowned when he was walking on water) Even if we are working at a company or industry we are not passionate about we need to remember we are working for the lord and not for man. When you actually work hard for your 9-5 you will actually feel great and have more energy to work on your passion project outside of work. This is because you're living with integrity, you can’t just skim the corners and just get by at work and then decide once you clock out that all of the sudden you’re going to be world class, nope it doesn’t work like that. How we do one thing is how we do everything. When we put in the work day in and day out, obviously with a sabbath, we will gain the discipline that we need in order to run the race that God has given us. 

So back to my friend, I told my friend to just take that first step, even if it’s the wrong one God will re- direct you. And don’t be scared to make the wrong one or even be out of God's will because he will honor your faith and let you know if it’s the right direction by giving you peace. We cannot live out of fear, believe me I went through a season where I was fearful of making any decision but that’s not the will of God for us at all. Sometimes as Christians we can get lazy and say ahh God is going to do it anyway, I went through a season where God actually didn’t do it because he was waiting on me. This goes to the point what Joyce Meyer always says, “Do what can do and God will do what you cannot do”. Remember you are in partnership with Christ, we are his co-workers. You have to pick up your own cross every single day as Jesus said. 

In the book “Kingdom Man” by Tony Evans, he said God gave us power and authority over our dominion. Just like the football players have power and authority to play within the lines on the field so God has given us a territory to dominate. 

But at the end of the day no matter what happens God will always be with us. As God said to Joshua: 

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.””

So today go out and do everything God has told you to do. Pick up your cross, remember faith without works are dead. We can see your faith by your actions. Your actions are reflected by your heart. 

As it says in proverbs 
“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”

Our actions stem from from our heart and our heart is conditioned by the renewal of our mind. In other words where are mind goes, our heart goes where our heart goes our feet goes. As Dr. Stanley said “we sow a thought and reap an action. We sow an action and reap a habit, we sow a habit and real a character” 

What action will you sow today?

The Heart Game

The Heart Game 

How is your heart? You might be asking how is my heart? Seriously bro? What about how is my career? How are my finances? How is my health? 

Well my friend, what I have learned on this path with Jesus and studying the Bible is that all our problems and life flow through the heart. From the heart comes our motives, from the heart, comes our desires, from the heart, comes our actions. From the heart, as Jesus said come disease, anger, rage, malice, deceit. But also from the heart comes love, forgiveness, kindness, compassion, etc. 

Proverbs 23:24 

 For above all else guard your heart for everything you do flows from it 

If everything we do flows from the heart, it means we need to guard our heart, we need to protect it, Jesus said he will guard our hearts but we need to do our part too. We need to protect our eyes (what we see), our mouth (what we say), and our ears (what we hear). 

As Jesus said “if the eyes are good then our body will be filled with light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness” Matthew 6:22

We need to guard our hearts and filter out the negative and unfruitful things that come into our hearts because these are seeds. We can’t entertain these seeds because they will grow roots in our lives. Many times it’s the entertainment we are entertaining, hello Netflix. To be honest these days I rarely watch anything, only sports, and youtube. It is very rare I will sit down to watch a 2-3 hour movie. This is why it is called entertainment, the definition of entertainment is to “keep someone in a frame of mind”. The point of these movies or shows is to have you feeling or thinking in a certain way and we know that the spirit of God is not in these shows, so what spirit is guiding it if it’s not a pure spirit? I always say “ If I have to question it, then it’s not good for me”. Nothing is static, it’s either up or down. Even though we say we are strong, remember we can’t trust ourselves too much, the flesh is weak. I have noticed that when we entertain content and company that isn’t necessarily bad for us but also isn’t necessarily good for us it will still lead us to make errors in our thoughts which lead to errors in our actions which lead to errors in our habits and then life. We can’t serve two worlds at once. We can’t worship the kingdom and also the world’s way. This is how people slowly drift away from living from the principles of the bible. We have to make sure every decision is done through the lens of Jesus. We can’t let a tree of lust, a tree of unforgiveness, a tree of anything that will hinder us, grow inside of us. We have to cut it out before it grows.

We also have to be careful what comes out of our hearts. So how do things come out of our hearts? Our words, thoughts, and action. 

In Matthew 15, It even came to a point when everyone was asking Jesus what kind of food could they could eat, the Pharisees asked Jesus why won’t his disciples wash their hands before they eat because they are unclean and will eat unclean food. Mannnn that’s why I’m not Jesus I don’t know what I would have said to them. 

Pharisees back then were this big religious Jewish sect that observed the law. So if someone didn’t observe the law perfectly they would be punished for it, kind of how some religious people are now. Instead of focusing on their walk, we focus on others, but that’s a different convo and I am definitely guilty of that as well. 

But back to Jesus, Jesus said to them: 

“What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

That’s why we have to be careful of what we say and do because our actions are what defile us. Just because I have a negative thought does not mean I should act on it. 

This is why it’s so important to be in a relationship with Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. When the sanctification process starts your wants and desires start to become more of what God desires and not what you desired or desired before. Because most of the time as humans what we desired never really filled us anyway. So when we renew our mind and ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit he will make our flesh dead to sin, to the point where if we try to commit the sin we will realize #1 either it won’t feel good or #2 we will be convicted by our spirit after we have committed the sin. This will force us to find more fulfilling actions and guide us to a more fulfilling life.

I have learned if we walk in love every single day, even though it’s a hard walk, it’s so worth it. 

Let us not judge others as Jesus said 

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For, in the same way, you judge, you will be judged, and the measure you use, it will be measured to you”

God said it’s time to use a new measuring tool! It’s not time to use not a cylinder, not a ruler but GRACE. We can rule judgment with a ruler only GRACE. Give people grace. Love them, see how God sees them.

When we live our lives with open hearts we will feel more love, peace, and blessings.

Jesus Loves Investing

Jesus loves investing because he loves stewardship. He loves what you can do with the little. Because if you do good with little, you can do good with much. 

I am writing this is because of the following reasons: I have been convicted of how I view money, what money actually is, what money can actually do for my life and in the life of others for the glory of God.

According to scholars, God talks about money much more in the Bible than many of the topics we hear about. What I have learned is that if we use money strategically,  we can advance our life in a faster way and can also bless others. But what we know sometimes isn’t always what we do and that isn’t wise. The definition of wisdom is the right application of knowledge. Money is energy and time is money. How much money you make is equivalent to the value to add to the marketplace. 

To be honest, this season and towards the end of the pandemic, I almost lost sight of the value of the dollar. I started spending over my budget and started taking my paycheck for granted until I hit a hiccup on the road and I was wow wait. “I’m gonna wait on you!” Lol. I’m kidding, I actually needed to take action and not wait. I told myself,  “What have I been doing this whole time?” How have I been living blind? How come I didn’t invest the money in places where it could have been doubled? But I don’t live in regret, I use mistakes as learning experiences. As Michael Jordan said in an interview recently “you can’t win if you don’t lose”. 

Through this year I have been investing in my talents, creativity, and my education but not investing in my financial education. I had to remind myself that our finances are the lifeblood of our business and quality of life. There is a saying that being rich won't make you happy but being broke is a passport to misery and that’s so true! With more money, you can bless others, live a better quality of life, do things you have always wanted to do, and help your church. And let’s be honest when you have more money in your account, there is less anxiety. Studies show that after 60k a year money doesn’t increase your happiness, so let’s just say that money doesn’t buy you happiness but the lack of money won’t buy you happiness either. And most of the people and millionaires I have met said that money did increase their happiness because they have more freedom, so let’s not regurgitate sayings that culture loves to pass around. 

This takes me to the parables of the talents. The master gives 3 men talents according to their ability. Two of the men doubled their talents and the third man hid his talent. The master said ” the least thing you could have done was give it to the bank so they can double my investment”  Plot twist moment here. God is investing in you! He is giving you talents, abilities, resources, and finances so you can steward them in the most efficient and constructive way. And what happens if we don’t steward these things correctly then we will get it taken away. He wants us to invest in our health, education, talents, investments, real estate, stock market, and others. 

As Jesus says “ for whoever has will be given more and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them” Let’s strive to not be the have nots. Let’s show God what we can do with what we have right in front of us and inside of us right now. Like it says in the word he gave us what we need according to our ability and level. I know at the end of my life I want a “ Well done, good and faithful servant, you have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness”! Matthew 25: 2

Do you? 

Even if you squandered all your money and talents, today is a new day just like the Parable of the Prodigal son how he spent his whole inheritance on prostitutes and wild living. He then became so hungry,  he was going to eat with pigs. But then he became sober and was like “yo what am I doing, I’m about to eat pigs meal but my father back home has everything,  let me just go back!” And that is what he did. His father welcomed him with open arms and didn’t bring up his past, the father gave him everything he needed and more. It was a new day and life for the prodigal son and that is how it can be for you. I always say, “Every day he fills our cup with a new cup of grace.” Let’s be open to receiving that refill.

Borrowed Faith

What do you do when you are lacking faith in a season or don’t have the faith you once had. Or maybe you’re reading this and you’re just starting out in your faith journey. 

You have to Borrow Faith.

When we borrow money from the bank or buy a house with a mortgage we still act as if it was ours! So why can’t we borrow faith from others who have strong faith when we don’t have it at the time? And fun fact when you borrow faith from others, there is no interest. 

You borrow it from other believers and leaders that have the faith you want.  

Borrowing faith means you ACT as if you already have the faith and then the faith will activate.

It’s scientifically proven when you think a certain way you will act a certain way and when you act a certain way you will think a certain way. Your physical informs your mental and your mental informs your physical. It is a 2-way relationship. Being in fashion, I tell people if you want to feel good you have to look good. Now I’m not saying just because you look good all your problems will be solved but when you dress the part you will actually be the part. Have you ever experienced when you dress up for Halloween that you definitely feel like that character you are dressed like? This is why we have to dress how we want to feel and be. When I started in Real Estate I said I want to be a top real estate agent so I am going to dress like one. When I dressed like one, I felt like one. This is why in 1 Peter 5:5 it says clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another or in Colossians 3:12 it says “put on compassionate hearts” or in Galatians 3:27 it says “put on Christ”, In Romans 13:13 -14 Put on Lord Jesus Christ, Ephesians 4:24 “  and to put on the new self”. WHAT ARE YOU PUTTING ON? WHAT ARE YOU BORROWING? If I am borrowing something I want to borrow the good stuff. 

I remember when I re-committed my life to Christ and I was honestly like man, why do all these people in the Church raise their hand during worship? I mean is it because they really believe? Or is it because they want to be like everyone else to show off in public that they actually believe? Well, I remember there was this one sermon that definitely was a catalyst of increasing my faith to higher grounds. It was called “How Far Do You Want To Go With This” and it convicted me to make a decision on how do I actually want to go with this whole Jesus thing? Am I coming to church just to get a blessing or be a blessing? Am I coming to church to be served or to actually serve? How are my actions outside of church? Are they aligned with God? I told myself, I know I can’t do this alone and I haven’t really walked out this path with 100% righteousness before so I will have to borrow my pastor’s faith and actions. I will look at the energy he has for God and act like that. We all have to start somewhere.

As an artist, I have realized that all beginning artists borrow and copy styles at the beginning of their career until they start finding their own path and way. And if you are just starting out or if you walked with God for a while there will always be an evolution of your faith and self. This is why it’s OK to borrow someone’s faith and use it as a booster until you go into a different hemisphere of faith and belief. This is why on the rocket ship, the booster helps the rocket ship reach a certain altitude until the rocket can go to space all on its own. This is how we should use others people’s faith, belief, and testimonies. I remember reading this book when I was just starting out in a new retail company when I was about 19 years old and I had an issue with confidence. So I read this book called the “Magic of Thinking Big” and the one line that changed my life said “to think confident ACT confident” I was like “WOW. OK so that is what I am going to do” and that is what I did. I studied many confident people on YouTube of how they walked, talked, and even dressed, like Obama, George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, and many others. I acted like them, I borrowed what they had in order to get the outcome I was looking for. But fast forward to 7 years later I realized I had to act like Jesus for true transformation. Eventually when you act you will eventually become. Eventually, when you act a certain way, you will eventually become it, because it has become a habit. This is why the Bible talks a lot about Acts hence there is even a book called Acts. Jesus teaches us to act in love. Because there are going to be many times when we don’t feel like acting in love but as followers of Christ that is our duty. We have to act as we love them even if we don’t feel like it at the time. We can’t go based on our flesh, because if we did we would ruin many relationships. 

I don’t know about you but I want to be a black belt in following Jesus and faith. Yes, there will be times when we won’t feel like reading the bible, praying, or worshiping but it takes DISCIPLINE and DEDICATION to be a disciple. That’s why Jesus said the “harvest is plentiful but laborers are few”. You gotta want it, straight up. I’m just going to tell it like it is, many times you gotta do what you don’t want to do in order to get the outcome you want or actually need. Many times people don’t want to be healthy but they NEED it, many times people don’t want to be close to Jesus but they NEED it. Many of the best worship, bible readings, or workouts I have ever had were the ones that I really didn’t feel like doing. But like the Newton Law of Physics, an object in motion stays in motion. We have to get momentum on our side. Just get on the mat, write one sentence, read one chapter and you will actually want to do more I promise you. It’s like what Mike Tyson said: “discipline is doing what you hate to do but doing it like you love it”. This is so true! Sounds like acting first then being.  If the thing is beneficial for us, we have to act like we love it and eventually we will. I remember when I first started working out, I wasn’t really excited about it but once I experienced the results and what it can do for my body, mind, soul, confidence, and life in general I was like, this action has too many benefits to not do it or hate it. And to me that is what the bible, eating healthy, acting like Jesus, working out and many other positive habits I have developed has done for me. There are too many benefits to hate it or not do it. 

And there are too many benefits to not act like Jesus

Is Your Life Worth Watching?

The best game to watch always has the best defense and offense.  

It’s like life. Imagine if all you did was win with no resistance or challenge that would be boring and you actually wouldn't grow.  What is the definition of strength? It is “the capacity of an object or substance to withstand great force or pressure”. Let’s get right down to it. How strong are you? How strong are you physically? How strong are you mentally? How strong are you spiritually? We have to accept that life is a game and it is a sport. Do you want to play on the field or look at the players from the stands? If you’re reading this my guess is that you want to be on the field to WIN. 

The best books I have read was the one when the defense sometimes gets over on the offense. You always want to watch a game where there is tension and challenge. That is where people are glued to their TV. You want a championship atmosphere.  Every day is an opportunity to win the Championship, to win the PRIZE. 

How do we win? We have to see what our strengths and weaknesses are. We have to double down on our strengths and see how we can strengthen our weaknesses so they will not counter all the progress we have made with our strengths. Believe me, our enemy knows our strengths and weaknesses, as it says in the word he is a lion waiting for someone to devour. He has a STRATEGY. So that means that we have to have our STRATEGY as well. This is why I always say we have to have our morning routine. This is the primer and the bumper (like the bumper for the car it minimizes damage for collision) for the day. The morning routine of being in God’s word and prayer. I myself also add meditation, working out or yoga to the mix. Once I am finished with my routine I have primed my brain, I have renewed my mind to God’s way and not the world’s way. After that, I have built my strength and primed myself so that if any negative thing happens I already have the right mindset so it won’t affect me as much. I will be in solution mode rather than reaction.  I have sharpened my axe.

The football players have to memorize their playbook in order to be on the field and run the plays. So as followers as Christ we should also have a couple of verses we memorize or at least hold in our heart so before we go into battle we can recite them to ourselves or in prayers. The enemy knows the word so we should too. This will truly give us strength because it gives us God's strength, not our own. We can’t do that much or anything on our own. As it says in John 15:5 “apart from me you can do nothing”. We truly can’t do anything extraordinary without God.

I was watching the Yankee game, I kept seeing Aaron Judge, the Yankee’s right fielder, look into his cap before a new player came to bat. I realized that the players now have a chart in their cap of how to play each batter. The defense had a strategy on how to play the offense and vice versa. The quarterback looks at his wrist for the play call. This is what God wants us to do before each day, before each opportunity, before each meeting before each conversation. We have to ask God for the play call. We have to ask God, God how should I play this? How do you want me to go about this? It’s God’s will not ours. We have to ask him for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding and from there we can build things that will stand the test of time. As it says in Proverbs 3:19 “ By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations by understanding he set the heavens in place.”

Whether watching football or any sport, think about the Bible and life. How can we apply these strategies to our own lives? Think about the strategies they need in order to succeed on the defense and offense. 

God called us to be on the offense but the enemy is always there playing defense. Our playbook is the Bible and when we go according to our playbook like the athletes we know what route to run and play because we have already been trained.

PAPER JAM

Why does a printer always get jammed? 

How can God paint a new picture and do a new work in you if your printer keeps getting jammed? 

I researched why printers get jammed most of the time and it’s because of the MISALIGNMENT OF THE PAPER. Bingo. Many times when we get jammed in life it’s because we are not in alignment with God. 

Many times the printer gets jammed because there is too much paper in the tray. What’s in your tray? What is going in your body? I hear God saying you need to consume less of the world because that will get you jammed. You need to get rid of those friends because that is what keeps getting you jammed. You need to cut off that sin because that is what’s getting you jammed. 

God’s will for us is not to be jammed but if we already have too much on our tray how can God print a new picture in our lives. Many times we settle for black and white while God wants to print our lives in color! He wants to give us a new life! He wants to create a new drawing and picture. He wants to print a new blueprint! 

We need to cut off everything that is holding us back, anything that is heavy, anything that is stopping us from moving forward. Anything that is not in alignment with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. 

How do we get in alignment? We get in alignment by reading the word (Bible), prayer, worship and fellowship with other believers. And this is an everyday consistent basis. In no time you will see yourself becoming in alignment. 

But many times we get jammed if we are in alignment with God because we aren’t doing the things he is telling us to do. Whether it's to start a business, launch’s project, write a book, create a song, go back to school, clean up our house or maybe all of those. If you have too many God to do’s in your tray you will be jammed because you need to be obedient and just take action on at least one thing God has been telling you to do. Remember the picture gets printed one by one and many times we try to do all things at once and then we get jammed. 

One by one , one step at a time. One seed at a time, one person at a time, one conversation at a time. One prayer at a time. This is how we become the person God wants us to be. 

But before God prints the perfect picture for us. We have to pull out the bad sheets first. Sometimes it’s only one bad sheet and many times it’s a lot of bad sheets. In order to move forward and for your printer to run smoothly there can be any bad sheets. Do you have any bad sheets in your life? I urge you to pull it out now and do not delay. This is the day the lord has made and he wants us to live it today. Not yesterday not tomorrow but today. 

In order to take out the sheets we have to turn off the computer and sometimes give it 10 minutes to rest. That’s God telling us many times we have to unplug and turn off first in order to hear from God. We have to ask him what is the direction he wants to take us. Where does he want us to go? Who or what does he want us to get rid of? 

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

As it says here we have to throw off anything that hinders us from God’s purpose and that jams or entangles us. 

How can we run our race if we have so much dead weight on us? I have a feeling sometimes it’s not even a physcial thing or a friendship it’s probably unforgiveness or someone you need to say sorry to. If we hold this in, our hear will get hard, but we need to act immediately because if not that feeling will get worse everyday. 

As it says later in that passage: 

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”

Growing bitter against someone will cause a major jam in our lives. There is no way to print a beautiful picture in color if we have any root of bitterness. Our root determines our fruit and if our root is bitter then so will our furit. And I don’t like bananas to be bitter. I want it to be sweet. Is there someone we need to be sweet to today? I hear you saying oh but I need to act hard and keep up this wall so I look a certain way. I hear you and I understand you but Jesus said turn the other check and bless and pray for our enemies. It even says in the Bible feed our enemeis! Now I’m not saying to not have boundaries to not cut people off when you need to but there are situations where most of the time if we step up first in forgives the whole relationship can be healed. 

Let’s make sure to consecrate ourselves and not step into the darkness with any immorality, filth, sexual immorality etc. Let’s stay Godlly

If your system is jammed you can’t get reception to see what God wants to do next. You need to be clear. 

“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.”

The Lord Said

What I Learned From Bouncing Back From Bells Palsey & Lyme Disease

The only thing that got me through bells Palsy and Lyme disease and that month was the word of God and his presence. It wasn’t Echart Tolle or any other new age techniques or thought processes it was the Bible. Jesus, Holy Spirit and my faith community. That’s why it’s so key to have all of it.

Things I have learned from bouncing back from Bells Palsy and Lyme  

If God is for me who can be against me 

Everything is happening for me, not against me. Learning that I have to truly accept this life is a battle and a game. So how can I get more on the offensive side of my strategy? The sword of the spirit, this means I may need quote scripture and also what can I be proactive about? Remember Jesus is the guard of our soul. The enemy is always after our soul. Most of the time the world offers us counterfeit comfort that feels good in the moment but will actually end up leaving us feeling more empty after. This is why alcohol drugs and sex is so prevalent in our society. If we feel bad then some people think I feel like this because I need a drink, a certain drug or sex but that’s not the case at all. All of those things will end up making you feel worse. Only the presence of God, the peace of God that transcends all understanding and being in his will can heal you. There is no better feeling. And when you’re on that path its a path of favor, healing, revelation. This does not mean you will not face trouble as Jesus says take heart you will face heart but he already overcame the world. Being a Christian does not mean having less problems, being a follower of Jesus means you will have a fruits of the spirit to overcome those problems, everything happens for us. So if God is allowing a thorn on your side that means he wants to strengthen you. He wants to reveal something to you. So when something bad happens to you, don’t just asking God why me? Ask him what can you learn from this? What kind of testimony can you make from this? How can you come out of this even better than before.

All things are possible with God. I came out of this with a stronger faith than ever. When I was in the hospital and they told me I have Bells Palsy and its is temporary but also  my face my not go back to normal. I had to decide right there and there what am I going to decide to think about. It is all in our mind, that's why in Romans 12:2 it says renew our minds to the way of God and not this world. The way of the world is worry and believing the diagnosis of doctors but the way of God is believing his promises for our lives. So I had to set my mind on believing that I will go back to 100% health no matter what anyone else says. As it says in Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

I kept praying and telling self constantly throughout the day I am 100% healed in Jesus’s name. There is truly no other option, I couldn’t allow my mind to think any other way but 100% healing and power. And I thought to myself how can this challenge better me? And I got excited about that too. And I also reached out to many friends to pray for me as well. Community is so important.

I do believe that we can be content in every circumstance if we have the right mindset. What we think eventually becomes our reality. That one mistake that cost that person 5 years was actually done multiple times in his mind first. If we feel temptation, greed, anger, hatred or envy we need to have God help us with those things when they are small so they won’t get rooted deeply. We need God to wipe us clean from everything but it’s always easier to do it when the problem is small than when it is bigger. We can be content in every circumstance if we believe that everything is happening for us and not against us. Even during the hard times or struggling times it might be hard to think like that. We have get our minds to that level and to that foundation because if not then our minds will go astray then our body will go astray then our life will go astray. Take care of it now before it gets bigger. God loves the little and he loves obedience. 

This generation needs leadership. And if you’re reading this right I believe God is calling you to lead whenever you are. In your home, your job, your neighborhood. It’s time to really dig our foot deep into the firm foundation Christ has given us and no be shaken by culture. The people who culture praises (not all)  are unfortunately not the role models for us nor for our future generations. I believe he has called you specially to break generational curses in your bloodline. It is scientifically proven that trauma and habits are genetically passed down. What can you do today for someone else? What can you do today to step up? What can you do today to show mercy for someone even though they have wronged you? I know this message is for me too, how can we be an example of what living Christlike actually looks like, and I’m telling you right now, living in the righteousness and peace of God is the best feeling in the world. Nothing can compare. As Jesus said if you do the work of the father he and God will dwell and work in you and make your body a dwelling place. Sometimes this can be scary but it’s always worth it. 

“Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”

John 14:23

Identity & Habits

Your habits come from your identity. Your decisions make you. But your decisions come from your self-identity. I was thinking about this while doing the dishes. Why do people want to do something, or know that it is good for them and not actually do it? After research, experience and reading the word, it’s pretty obvious that what we do stems from who we think we are on the inside. But this is what I tried to do for so long in my life. I tried to change myself. But that is only possible up to an extent. Once I dedicated myself to Christ again things started to change from the inside out, the procrastination problems I had and the self worth problems started to diminish little by little. That is because my identity is in Christ, not in me. I am not my habits, money, car, sins, past, future. I am a son of God made by God, I am his creation and he sees me as perfect creative, talented, forgiven, awesome, handsome, influential, wealthy, healthy, confident, strong, kind, compassionate, empathetic, loving, caring, responsible and the list goes on and on. This is how he sees me, so the name of the game is how can I see myself as he sees me everyday? How can I internalize that so I can actually believe I am who he says I am. For me this happened through reading the bible, prayer, being around believers who see a light in you, going to church (Going at least once a week shocks your system because of the positive environment) worship and also stepping out in faith and actually doing what God tells you to do. When you do what God tells you to do, you become more courageous and your faith increases in spite of fear. 

The point is, you do what you think you are, not who you want to be. This is why diets, changes in habits and more other changes people try to change never last. We can’t rely on our own power, we have to rely on God’s power. When we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, there is absolutely nothing we can't do. Because of the Holy Spirit, God told us we do not have the spirit of timidity but the Spirit of love, power, sound mind and self control. When we are changing our habits for the better all we have to do is ask God to help us real time and he will change our ways. Also, if we fill our lives with good and more good then its not possible for the bad to come because we are too busy doing good. In the word it says we fight darkness with light. So instead of focusing on not doing bad, focus on doing good. If you're tempted to smoke instead go for a run. If you’re tempted to watch 3 hours of Netflix that will leave you sloppy the next day, pull out a book and read. Once you start these little habits of doing good, the little will turn into a lot. Jesus loves a little, as it says in the word, we need faith the size of a mustard seed. We have the opportunity of a lifetime to be the best version of ourselves, lets make it happen. 

James 1:23-25 
”Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do”

You Are Responsible For A Million Lives

I know God specifically told me I will inspire, touch and change over 1 million lives. How? I don’t know. 

But what I have realized is that our lives don’t belong to us. We all play a part in the bigger piece of the puzzle, we play a role in the bigger movie. That’s why aligning with God’s will is so important. We want to be used to the utmost capacity by God and not let anything stand in the way of that. 

Your actions and what you do today can influence your future generations. This is a mission. This is generational. That’s how I look at it. When I have two options in front of me, one to make the right decision that’s hard in the moment but better for my future or one that will feel good in the moment and provide no fruit in the future, which one will I choose? I will always push and try to make the one that will give better results in the future. 

We have to look at ourselves as investors. Investing is not just with money but investing is also with energy, habits, relationships etc. We have to make our flesh cry now so our soul won’t cry later. Or like the late Jim Rohn said “Pay the price of discipline or pay the pain of regret” They both hurt but regret hurts way more. 

In these moments of decision or distraction I always like to have tools in place so I can stay on track. I use a couple of strategies and here are some you can use. These strategies allow us to re calibrate our mind and keep us aligned with our goals so we wont go back into our old habits of distraction.

1. Prayer 

This prayer allows us to put all our requests to God and lean on his strength now our own. 

2. 5 Second Rule

I got your his from Mel Robins. You literally just count 5,4,3,2,1 and then take the action you want in the direction you want. This completely disrupts your prefrontal cortex that is responsible for making decisions 

3. Affirmations & Mind Tapping

- EFT mind tapping and affirmation are great. I love just saying and affirming things over myself. As it says in the word, life and death is in the power of the tongue. Our tongue and what we say is the rudder of our ship. When I say I can do all things through Christ or I am worthy, I am valuable, I am more than enough, I am strong, I am confident. I feel better because I remind myself of who I am. 

“Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.”

4. Get physical

If you have the opportunity sometimes it’s great to just get down on the floor and do some push ups and crunches. Or if you can do a yoga flow, a downward dog, or just some light stretches to re calibrate your mind 

5. Meditate 

 To get your self in a higher consciousness or a mind reset button, meditation is always good for that. 

6.Listening to music or worship music.

This completely can change your focus.  

7. Go for a walk.

When you go for a walk, you change your surroundings and when you change your surroundings you forget about what you were thinking about before. 

8. Read.

1. Read a good book about mindset, or just the bible. It will get you in the right thinking you need in order to get where you want to go. 

   9. Call a friend.

   A great conversation with a friend can always give you the refresher, motivation and reminder about why you started a certain project or following your dreams in first place 

   10. Just push through.

   Sometimes we need to push through resistance and build those resistance muscles. Many times when we are staring at a blank page or a project that we are scared of putting in the world we will often distract ourselves. Whether that’s going to the kitchen to get a snack, going to Instagran etc . Many times it's just pure willpower and focus. Let's put the phone in a different room, put down the food and for the next 45 minutes - 1hr focus on the task at hand. After you finish the task you will feel way better about yourself because you did what you told yourself you were going to do. 

All of these strategies can and will keep you in alignment with your goals and will help you. They will keep your energy up. And will increase your confidence because then you will start looking at yourself as someone who is responsible and takes 100% ownership for their life.

Free Refills Of Grace EVERYDAY

We get FREE refills of GRACE every single day and every single moment no matter our performance. God will love us and keep showering us with his love. I was in church and the pastor said something so profound he said “ The best Christian is the one that can recieve God’s love” and I said that’s so true. But you don’t have to be a Christian to receive God’s love either, God will meet you wherever you are or whatever religion you follow. This is what we are called to do on this earth, TO LOVE not judge.

Jesus told Paul in the book of Corinthians “ My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness." This is means that no matter how much we accomplish, do, have our identity is in Christ not in what we have in this world. What a concept right? Our value and worth is not based on our performance, bank account, or our career. It’s in God. Lets face the truth, everything here is temporary, your career, your health, your relationships, your house, everything. The only thing that will stand the test of time is our souls which Jesus guards for us. So when people get worked up trying to do the most, like I used to do, now I know to slow down, pray and get into the pace of Grace.

What is the pace of grace? Well i’m glad you asked. It’s following the pace of God. God’s timing is perfect and is always different than our timing. That is why we should always try to be in alignment with God. Come to think about it, in my experience God’s timing is slower than the worlds that because when he does make things happen, it can change your life in one moment. Whether your waiting for that job, girlfriend or business deal to happen, many times he allows us to wait to build our strength.

I always like to look at this as a game because we are called to do great things on this earth and we get attached to our possessions, our identity in our career and even our families. But then God says our foundation should be in him alone and we should love him more than anything. So sometimes when we value things more than God, God will sometimes allow circumstances that strip our idols away from us. I know he did this to me. My health was stripped away from me and my career. Two things that identified myself with the most and when those things were gone, I didn’t know who I was for a good minute. But its true, how can I know who I am if I don’t know who God is? So for that year I was reading the bible way more, having alot of alone time with myself and God, was off social media. I had to make sure I renewed my mind to God’s will according to his purpose and not my own will or cultures. People always say to other people with whatever they believe in and consume “oh your being brainwashed” but they don’t realize is that they are being brainwashed either way, most people are being brainwashed by culture and don’t even realize it. Have you questioned your identity, why do you the things you do, why you like the things you like, why you watch the content you like or any of that lately? If not, then it would be great to reflect and reassess, most of the time, subconsciously your doing things your parents told you do that has been passed down by generations. I could go on and on but you get my point.

Either way know that God loves you no matter what you have done in the past. Today is a new day and a new opportunity to be your true authentic self and serve people through the love of God flowing through you.

Obedience??? Aghh on the real, sometimes it’s hard to obey! BUT What I have learned is that God sees everything, way before we do. Even if it doesn’t make sense, if we do what he is telling us to do, it is for our own good because his plan is way better than our plan. We are living in God’s house and he is strategic and purposeful with every moment and thing that he does. He did not put us here to be lost or confused. We are not commanded to be obedient because God wants to do it out of ego, absolutely not. He has a perfect plan for our lives and its more than we can think or imagine. His timing is absolutely PERFECT. In this video I share a time where it didn’t make sense to be obedient but I did it anyway and God showed me his glory.

Life Is A Game

Life ain't nothing but a game aint it? 

I remember when I was little, I would play video games. I used to really love Laura Croft Tomb Raider but there were some levels that were very hard to beat. I remember my Dad buying me the video game book and it was only from there that I actually could go to the next level. In life it’s going to be the same thing sometimes. God has you at a certain level and there is some information, knowledge and habits that you may need to acquire in order to get to the next level. We as human beings have blind spots and knowledge and awareness is how we get rid of the blind spot. Your suffering is not just a spiritual attack, it is actually done on purpose to tell you something is wrong here, you need to change your mindset, your approach or you have ignorance in a certain area. All of this takes humility to grow through. It’s like when you have a car and something’s wrong, doesn’t the engine light come on? Well your suffering or your problem is your engine light. Problems are in your life in order for you to grow and learn. The wealthiest and happiest people in the world have solved the biggest problems. On a monetary level how much you are being paid is your value in the marketplace. I fully believe that we are intrinsically invaluable, we are worth so much no money can buy us because of who made us. But as far as the skills and our value in work, the higher your skills and knowledge the more you will be paid. I was telling myself the other day if life is a game, why don’t I use the mindsets and strategies of the most successful and happy people in the world, whether that's getting a mentor, course or a book, we have everything in our fingertips.. And many times it's actually unlearning. Unlearning everything we learned from culture and our past to strip away everything we thought we needed to be in order to be the person we actually are. This is a transformation process. Now that you know that life is a game, what is the next step or knowledge you need to acquire in order to get to where you want to go? Or who you want to be?

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 KJV

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway”

Ride The Wave 🏄🏽‍♂️

God wrote this I was just the vessel. 

I have realized that opportunities in life are like waves. Most of the time you have to wait for the right one. And not every wave may be for you. Sometimes a great wave or opportunity might come but it might flatten to early. Sometimes we think just because it’s a big and grand opportunity or wave we think “this is the one that we need to take” but sometimes these big waves can kill you! This is where discernment kicks in, expert surfers know which ones are good to ride and which ones are not because #1 they have experienced doing this many times before and #2 they get a gut feeling if this is the one for them.  Confident surfers let other surfers ride a wave that looks good but it’s not for them, this is where confidence and patience comes in because sometimes when we are sitting waiting for our wave we see so many other people riding their wave and great looking ones! We need confidence in knowing God will provide the right wave for us because if not we will end up riding other peoples waves, get hurt and burned out! This is how many people live their lives! And this is where we ask God “OK God I’ve been waiting where is it?!” God wants us to be experts at following the Holy Spirit.

But when we get a calling from God - ok here it is. When we get a calling from God we get a PULL! The bigger the wave the bigger the pull! The bigger the wave the more he will pull you in to get closer to him. Do you hear me? If he pulls you in and wants you closer is because he has a big wave for you. The closer you are to him the easier it is for you to hear him. Don’t fight the pull! Don’t deny his calling! If he’s knocking, open the door! You just have to be patient and trust the timing. Just like the surfers they sit on their boards and paddle and wait and enjoy the view. This is what we have to do in our walk, we have sit and wait and he will speak to us, but when we get that pull we will know there is something coming! And sometimes we lack discernment and we ride the wrong wave and crash and this is why we have to keep on going back out there in the deep end and ride and get the experience after falling down, like Proverbs 24:16 says “For through the righteous fall seven times, they rise again” The more experienced you are following the Holy Spirit the more precision you will have in your decision making. 

And you will know if it’s a God given opportunity or wave because you will glide! You can’t stop it! It’s easier and your not striving. When you’re riding the wave it’s bliss, yes there’s some adjustments you might need to make on your board but God is guiding you throughout the whole way.

The best things about surfers are their expectancy, they go out there early in the morning expecting to ride that beautiful wave, and this is how we should be with God go out there everyday and expect great things! If you tell yourself in the morning “this is the day the lord has made” and expect miracles and abundant blessings, your life will change. Don’t we serve the God of the impossible?! What can’t he do?! I don’t know about you but I’d rather get my hopes up than not expect nothing at all! God is good. 

Moral of the story: ride the wave  🏄🏽‍♂️

Dinner With Jesus

Imagine if Jesus has invited us to the table for dinner? What would you bring? Would you bring anything? Are we just going to consume the food at the table? Or are we going to bring something and contribute something special to the table? We all have different gifts (our special sauce) we can bring to the table and with all our different dishes, it makes a meal as we all complete each other for contributing to the body of Christ. Every dish counts and every body part counts, no matter how small. Try walking without a pinky toe and you will have no balance. 

What if he he said  “My Child, what have you brought me today?” And you don’t have much or maybe you think you do, but you do! You have a lot inside of you. For so long I didn’t think I had much, I didn’t think I had talent, I didn’t think I was creative, I didn’t think I was good enough, but those were all lies that I believed! For years! And I’m here to tell you that doesn’t have to be your story either! 

Bring whatever you have, bring it to the table. No matter how small. Jesus can Multiply it. Just as he did with the 2 fish and 5 loaves and turned it into feeding five thousand. Don’t be ashamed or think you’re not ready. You have that special unique meal that the table needs, the meal may be incomplete without your dish! There is a seat in your name waiting for you. Now is the time.

And don’t be scared to make it if you think people can’t digest it!! Don’t water your meal down, don’t belittle who you are or what you got for no one. What God wants you to present to the table is what you should present to the table, nothing less! FULL FLAVOR FOR FULL FAVOR. He prepared the table for you before your enemies! He numbered your hairs and had a plan for you when you were in your mother’s womb! He knows who you are! But he can’t bless the watered down version though, he needs the full flavor. 

He is inviting you to bring your uniqueness, he is inviting you to bring your talent, he is inviting you to bring your quirks that you don’t show in public, and you can do it all with the ingredients you have right now. It’s already in your cabinet, you might not think so, but you already have it. You have the spice. You have the sauce.You’re ready. 

Out of studying so many successful entrepreneurs and artists, most of them started before they were ready and many didn’t even know what they were doing! Many of the best songs happened because the artist just felt the urge to sing something and it just flowed out of them! Even as I’m writing this I didn’t research anything, I was inspired by Luke 22:24-30 and it’s truly the holy spirit speaking through me. He will tell you what to say and what to do at the perfect time and place. It’s already inside of us, we have access to God’s timeless wisdom through the Holy Spirit. If you say you don’t have the ingredients, you’re saying what God created isn’t complete or good. But when he created man, he said that is good.

Question for today: what can you create or do with what you got right now? If it’s a YouTube video, do it on your iPhone you don’t need expensive equipment, if it’s writing a book, start with a paragraph in your notes app, if it’s starting a business, read 10 minutes of a business book, call a business owner or sell something on eBay to see how e-commerce works and get momentum on your side. All the ingredients you need are already in your cabinet, and you don’t need to go to culinary school to make it. We have everything inside of us right here right now. Let me know what you will create today!

Remember he already prepared the table! We just gotta bring what we got!

A little faith ...

Hey Fam,

I was reading the famous walking on water story and I was thinking, do we need a lot of faith or a little faith? Now Jesus commanded the disciples to get in the boat in Matthew 14:22. “ Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd”

The disciples thought they saw a ghost during the storm but it was Jesus. The interesting thing is Peter was the only one that needed an extra sign from Jesus to know if that was him or not. The other disciples stayed in the boat as Jesus commanded before the storm. Don’t we all go through seasons of life where we need that extra sign from God? Like God, if this is you I will come out of this boat, I will be willing to walk on water. But I have been realizing sometimes in your faith walk, it takes just as much faith to stay in the boat as it does to walk on water. There might be a season where we know it’s God and we don’t need the spectacular miraculous blessings and we can just stay in our boat and stay focused because we know it’s God. But sometimes there are seasons where we are like God, I need this blessing, I need this sign, is this opportunity from you? Should I make this decision? Then we get a call to walk on water because sometimes we don’t know. God usually doesn't give us the whole staircase, only the first step. 

So when we are in those seasons, do we need a lot of faith? Or a little faith? 

Well.. as we see in Mathew 14:30-31 Peter got out of the boat, he knew God was calling him to step out in faith, and Jesus was waiting for him. Now mind you the crazy part of this whole thing was, there was a storm happening in the midst of this! 

God will many times call you to step out of your boat when things are already hard! Lol. Like God common this too? He called us to step out of all the things your used to, not when things are going well, not when things are perfect but when things look horrendous, when things look like you might never make it, when things look like you might never see tomorrow but this is when little faith comes in.

Peter stepped out and he felt a strong wind and became scared but he called to his father “Lord, please save me!” He cried out to his father (Abba) In times of desperation or in times when we just don’t have the answer when we cry out to our father God he will always save us.

It says in Matthew 14:31 “ Instantly Jesus reached out his hand, caught and held him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt” 

Jesus acknowledged that he had little faith and doubt! He knows your fears and your doubts. But this is why we need to be honest with ourselves and God and bring him everything in prayer. Prayer is an honest conversation between you and the father. If you have doubts ask God why? God questioned Peter about his faith but I believe not in an interrogating way, because God knows everything but in a way for Peter to think about. “O you of little faith, why did you doubt” was the last thing Jesus said to Peter before they got into the boat to take the rest of the trip to Gennesaret. Jesus left Peter with that question so he could think about it on the rest of the boat ride. Luckily at that time there was no Instagram, no cell phones so Peter could not be distracted and really think about his doubt. Many times God will ask us questions and sometimes we are not ready for it and we distract ourselves and we miss what God is trying to tell us! We miss the boat.  This is why we need to spend time with God alone and silence to hear what he wants to download in our hearts, mind and soul. 

Ask him to increase your faith, ask him to increase your territory. Let him know that you doubt sometimes, that’s okay. We are only human and we aren’t perfect. Even in our doubt, in our insecurity, in our little faith God can still use us in a big way. Jesus saved Peter from the storm even though Jesus knew he was going to deny him 3 times but he still had Peter write books in the Bible, he still used him to his potential and gave him purpose. You don’t need to have perfect faith to have purpose, you don’t need to have perfect faith to be used by God, you don’t need to be perfect yourself to live a Godly life. 

God loves a little. 

This is why he says all we need is faith the size of a mustard seed in Matthew 13:31. He also said “whomever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much”. This is why in Matthew 18:12 Jesus is happier about finding that one sheep that wandered off than the 99 that didn’t wander off. 

In my experience a little bit turns into a lot

5 mins of exercise turns into 30 mins 

2 mins of prayer turns into 10

1 day of healthy eating can turn into a week 

Writing 1 paragraph turned into 5 pages 

A little activates momentum … and momentum carries you into greatness. You can’t stop a train on its tracks … you can’t stop Lebron coming down the lane. 

An avalanche starts with one snowflake … and be careful when you go out because you know the saying … I’ll just have one drink lol.

Sometimes it’s just that one thing, that little thing. That one time. That one time can push us into greatness or that one time can diminish all of our progress. It might seem little, but that one seed can grow the biggest tree in the garden.

It’s all about a little, we don’t need a lot.

A little faith is how you grow a tree that can withstand any storm and can be a home for birds. What kind of habitat are you creating for everyone around you? It all starts with a little faith the size of a mustard seed. 

How do we grow our faith? I created an acronym called PRAWF. Do you even PRAWF bro? Lol kidding.

Prayer 

Reading and studying the word 

Act & Practice (taking action)

Worship 

Fellowship with other believers 

These things are huge factors in increasing your faith and when it becomes part of your lifestyle your faith gets deeper and stronger. This is why Jesus says in Matthew 7:24” Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock”. < - - We have to put the word into practice. In order words we can’t just read about it we gotta be about it. I feel Jesus asking me “ Are you about this life?” And say even though I miss the mark sometimes, I am about this life, and we can all be together, let’s get it.  What is Jesus asking you today?

POUR IT OUT

Hey Fam,

I was reading the Bible and this verse in Matthew 26:6 just jumped out at me and I just had to make a video about it

"While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she POURED on his head as he was reclining at the table"

I was like wow, she wasted no time. She saw the opportunity and went for it. Around this time perfume in alabaster jar cost about a year's worth of wages! But she took the risk and poured it all out on Jesus. She POURED IT OUT!

What can you pour it all into this week?

A couple of things I learned

1) Always Be Ready

2) Don't Care What Others Think (Sometimes you need to ignore conventional wisdom)

3) How To Pour It Out

After she poured it out, the disciples were not pleased and told her she could have sold it and given it to the poor. But Jesus said ya'll need to be quiet what she did to me was beautiful and she will be remembered forever for this action. And she was, she was written in the Gospel for one action of faith.

This lady didn't listen to the naysayers, she didn't listen to the "experts'' , she didn't listen to society, she didn't listen to religion and "wait on the Lord" because the presence of GOD WAS RIGHT THERE! (As it always is for all of us, even though we may not feel it, he is in us and around us at all times) she listened to her gut and just went for it. She was not looking at tomorrow, she was not looking at next week. She was looking at RIGHT NOW. This is true faith. IF WE DON'T HAVE FEAR, THEN WE DON’T NEED FAITH. Faith is stepping into something not knowing the outcome, not knowing if it will work or not. But knowing that Jesus will catch us if we fall and redirect us. And if it is a victory, even better.

While she was pouring the perfume, she may have thought "man this might not work but f*ck it" Do we need a f*ck it moment? We might need to send that email, make that call, go to that audition, write that script, ask that girl out, buy the course, fix your resume, sketch the design, do that workout, reach out for forgiveness, clean that room we have been drudgin over.

There is something God is telling you to do RIGHT NOW. Not tomorrow or next week. If you do it right now you will be honored. HE DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE FULL PLAN ONLY THE NEXT STEP. He gives you your daily bready today. In my experience, the next step will always reveal itself.

"8 When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. “Why this waste?” they asked. 9 “This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.”

10 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 The poor you will always have with you,[a] but you will not always have me. 12 When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
