KB's Morning Routine

A morning routine is so important to set up your day for success. The top athletes, CEO and world leaders all having morning routines. My morning routine is the anchor to my day. I try to get up at 5am every day. When I get up in  the morning the first thing I do is think about everything I am grateful for and visualize how I want my day to go. Its scientifically proven, the first thing you do in the morning sets the tone for the whole day.

Second, I put on inspirational videos on YouTube while I brush my teeth. My favorite person to listen to now is Mel Robbins (She is the author of the new book "The 5 Second Rule"), I highly recommend it. I also am a big fan of NPR Radios Podcast "How I Built This" this podcast dives into the stories of the most successful entrepreneurs. It's important you fill your mind with positive stories early in the AM and not all the negativity that is happening in the world. I always like to start my day thinking about all the positive possibilities that can happen. Anything is truly possible but sometimes we forget. Doing this gets you energized and not drained. Just like showering our body we also have to shower our minds.

After I brush my teeth, I get on my yoga mat and start writing in my journal. I read a couple of inspirational quotes from Joel Osteen then I write all my goals, everything I'm grateful for and everything I set to accomplish for the day in the best self co. journal. I write my wins, my losses and what I can improve on that day. Studies have shown that those who right down their goals have a 75% ore chance in accomplishing them verses those who do not, which is so evident in my experiences. After journaling, I then put on the Calm App where I mediate for 10 mins.

Meditation has changed my life. It's really true what they say about the benefits of meditation. I definitely am less stressed, have more self awareness, more concentration and I feel more centered. If someone is being annoying or something goes wrong during my day it doesn't affect me as much anymore, I just breathe and find the solution.

After meditation, I put on my gym clothes and hit Equinox for a HIIT workout or a yoga class. Getting a workout first thing in the morning is probably the best thing you can do for your day, you feel so accomplished when you leave the gym. No one ever regrets a morning workout, believe me.

After the gym I like to make the most important business calls and emails first thing in the morning. In business and life, it's all about momentum, always get the hardest thing done first.

Every time I stick to my routine, I feel amazing and I feel like I can take on any challenge. I go into my day feeling superhuman. I see such a huge change in my life as opposed to when I would wake up, get dressed and go. I am not perfect everyday but I always try to be consistent. The days I don't follow my routine I feel off. After doing research, the highly successful leaders and CEO's in the world all stick to a morning routine and wake up early. I highly recommend everyone find their morning anchor.
